Raiders Outplay #22 Butler but fall 62-57 in League Semifinals

Indianapolis, IN - If you would have told Wright State Raider fans before Saturday night's Horizon League semifinal match-up with the Butler Bulldogs, that the Raiders would outscore the 22nd ranked Bulldogs by 14 points from the field, they would have felt pretty good about their team's chances of pulling off the upset. If on the other hand, you would have told them that Butler would score 19 more points from the free throw line, they would have thought that the chances of victory would have been rather bleak. Tonight, both of those things happened, and the contest was still not decided until the game's final seconds. Butler prevailed 62-57 to advance to the Horizon League' championship game on Tuesday night against Cleveland State.    More ...

Women Close out the Regular Season with a Win!

In one of the seasons most exciting, if not THE most exciting game of the year, the Wright State Women's team closed out their regular season today. In a close game they came from behind to beat UIC in the Nutter Center 49-48. They will open Horizon League Championship Tournament play Wednesday at Valparaiso.    More ...




Women Blow Out Loyola to Open Final Home Stand

The Wright State Women's Team (9-8HL/13-15 overall) easily defeated Loyola (3-14 HL/8-19 overall) tonight at the Nutter Center, 64-44. This is the fourth win with 20 or more points for the Lady Raiders this season. Saturday will be their final home game of the season. They will host UIC at 1pm in the Nutter Center.    More ...

Raiders Advance with 68-56 Opening Round Tournament Victory over Valpo

Dayton, OH - Scott Grote and Cooper Land came off of the bench to record career highs in scoring to lead the Wright State Raiders (19-12) to a 68-56 victory over the Valparaiso Crusaders (9-22), in opening round action of the Horizon League tournament on Tuesday night at the Nutter Center. Land scored 15 points in 18 minutes of play on 6-of-6 shooting from the field, including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. Grote added 19 points, which included 11-of-13 shooting from the charity stripe. Scott also grabbed 5 rebounds and handed out 3 assists.    More ...
