Cory Cooperwood led the way with 19 points as the Raiders shot 55% overall from the field and hit five straight threes to start the game. Troy Tabler collected a career-high 16 points, connecting on three threes. N'Gai Evans and Todd Brown each added 11 points.

“The shooting in the first half was a great mix to our game," Wright State head coach Brad Brownell said. "I thought we had a great mix—some drives, some three-point shots, and throwing the ball inside and scoring. We thought we could do that all game, and we did, and our shooting throughout the night was really good. We shot 54% for the game, which is really good.”

WSU jumped to an early lead and never trailed in the game. The Raiders led by as much as 19 points late in the first half at 35-16 and were up 39-24 at the half but hot shooting by Portland State allowed the Vikings to charge back to within four points with 21 seconds remaining. Two Evans foul shots and one from Tabler down the stretch, however, helped preserve the victory.

Wright State (1-1) wraps up play at the AIA Classic Sunday as the Raiders take on Belmont at 7:30 Dayton time.
