Saturday Wright State played Detroit to close their season. The Lady Raiders shot 40% (22-55), however Detroit shot 48.9 %(22-45) to get the 58-54 win. It was appropriate that the two players leading the way where the two seniors in their last regular season game.

Senior Kanisha Ward put up 13 points and had three each in rebounds and assists. She also grabbed five steals. Classmate Erica Richardson hit eleven points, had a team leading seven rebounds and a steal. Before this game they were recognized by Assistant Athletic Director Roderick Perry and Coach Williams for their efforts through their years at WSU. There was also a reception after the game for family and supporters, recognizing their work and time at WSU.

The Lady Raiders had 19 turnovers for 21 Detroit points but won the battle of the boards 34-24. However this was a battle. The Lady Raiders were down by 18 with just 12:19 left. A couple of three pointers and a layup got the Lady Raiders within ten points of the Lady Titans. However the closet they would manage was a four point deficit at the buzzer, losing 58-54.

Now Wright State will play the Horizon League Tournament. They are seeded seventh place. That seeding allows them to host the tenth place team in the opening round. That game is Monday at 7pm in the Nutter Center. The Lady Raiders have beaten YSU twice this season. They won 65-31 when they hosted YSU in January. At YSU, the Lady Raiders won 57-38.

The winner of Monday's game will advance to the Quarterfinals and play at Butler University on Wednesday. That team should be the Lady Raiders - if they don't let their guard down! YSU of course will be looking for the upset.

Come out and cheer the team on Monday night at 7pm in the Nutter center. I'll see you there.
