Tabler's Three gives Men 76-73 win over YSU

By Ryan Hehr
Troy Tabler had 14 points against Youngstown State on Thursday night, but none of those points were as big as the three he scored at the end of the game to lift Wright State to a 76-73 win.

With just 0.5 seconds remaining in the game, Tabler had the ball right in front of the Wright State bench and sank a three-pointer to give Wright State their forth straight win over a Horizon League opponent. It's the first time this season Wright State has recorded four straight wins against Horizon League opponents.

More importantly, the win sewed up a No. 2 seed in the Horizon League Tournament. This means Wright State will have a bye in the first two rounds of the Horizon League Tournament and won't play again until March 6.

The win wasn't an easy one for the Raiders. Wright State trailed by as many as 12 in the first half and let a four point lead get away late in the game.

But key foul-shots from Vaughn Duggins and Tabler kept Wright State in front. It was after Youngstown State tied the game with 17.5 second remaining on the clock that Tabler hit the game winner.

Tabler wasn't the only one in the game who scored in double figures. In fact, five of his teammates did the same. Corey Cooperwood (11), N'Gai Evans (10), Todd Brown (16), Duggin (15) and Scott Grote (10) all had impressive scoring night for the Raiders.

Evans also contributed with four rebounds and a team high five assists.

Wright State (19-10) will now take on Cleveland State at 2 p.m. in the season finale. Win or lose though, Wright State will still be the second seed when the Horizon League Tournament starts.
