One game can make all the difference for some players. That was the case for Wright State sophomore Vaughn Duggins.

Against Youngstown State Duggins was just 1-9 from the field and had just three points the entire game. In Thursday night's 55-51 win over Loyola he led the team with 20 points and was 8-14 from the field, including a pivotal basket with one minute and 22 seconds left that helped ensure the Raiders the victory.

"He's a good player and is good at making plays," said head coach Brad Brownell. "The kid has played 24 games this year, been hurt once and I don't know if he's played poorly very often, but more times than not he's played well like tonight."

Another high point was that Wright State was able to finish off a game. They struggled with it at the beginning of the season, letting leads slips away and turn into losses, but haven't allowed that in the second half of the season.

Thursday's game had 12 lead changes-six with under six minutes to play- and the Raiders ended up on top. During that stretch they scored 11 points.

"Our defense was outstanding the second half. Offensively we had a few too many turnovers but shot a high percentage and Will (Graham)'s play was outstanding tonight," Brownell said.

Graham had a season high 17 points and to go along with five rebounds.

Wright State's next game will be against UIC. The last time the two teams met it was another close call for the Raiders as they squeaked away with a 76-75 win. Of course, not many games have been blow-outs for Wright State this season.
