After the game, players and coaches alike, made it obvious that a comfortable win, was welcomed at any time.

"I'd rather win this way, it's much easier on me," said Brownell. "We've had enough close games." Even Troy Tabler, a player who is normally quiet after games, perked up a little when the topic of big wins came up.

"We haven't had one of those in a while," said Tabler. The Raiders were able to record the win thanks to scoring coming from both the starting line-up and off the bench.

Troy Tabler (14), Vaughn Duggins (14), Corey Cooperwood (13), Todd Brown (11) and N'Gai Evans (11) were the five to break the ten point mark.

It's the second time this season the Raiders have had five players in double digits. The last time was on Dec. 3 against Cleveland State.

In addition to having a breakout game offensively, Wright State also played great defensively. WSU only allowed two UIC players to score more than ten points - Robo Kreps (16) and Anthony Kelley (11)- and the Raiders also pulled down 48 rebounds. Nine of those rebounds came from Cooperwood.

Wright State jumped out to a quick 13-3 lead in the opening six minutes of the first half thanks to three-pointers from Vaughn Duggins, Todd Brown and N'Gai Evans.

The Raiders held the lead and with 12:41 remaining a basket by Brown made it 17-9.

After that, UIC slowly got back in the game and tied the game at 23-23 with 6:12 remaining. But it was all Wright State for the remainder of the half.

Evans got things rolling with a basket followed by a pair of three-pointers from Troy Tabler to make it 31-23 with 4:27 remaining. Duggins then added another basket from behind the arc as the Raider finished the half with a 34-24 lead.

In the second half Wright State picked up right where they left off as a basket by Duggins and a pair of free-throws from Evans made the score 38-27 at the 17:53 mark.

After a short lived scoring drought Wright State made three straight baskets as Tabler made a three-pointer from the corner, Duggins drained a short-range jumper and Bown made a lay-up to give the Raiders a 45-31 lead.

With 12:42 on the clock Corey Cooperwood drove to the hole for a lay-up that extended the Raiders' lead to 47-35.

Over the next four minutes Wright State was able to extend their lead with free-throws despite not making a shot from the field. They made seven from the charity-line while UIC only made one.

Brown then ended the drought from the field with a dunk to make it a 56-38 game.

In the final 7:06 of the game, Wright State outscored the Flames 23-5 to seal the victory.

The Raiders are now 13-8 on the season and 6-4 against Horizon League opponents. Wright State's next game will be against Loyola at 2 p.m. in the Nutter Center.
